Charles Campbell College has a linguistically and culturally diverse school community and we recognise the importance of developing confident communicators, as well as imaginative and critical thinkers through all aspects of our curriculum.
We structure our learning programs to meet the needs of a diverse range of students and are committed to a differentiated curriculum which provides stretch and intellectual challenge for all learners. The curriculum for Years R-10 is based on the Australian Curriculum and the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) for Years 11-12. Our Junior Years learners (Reception to Year 6) work with their classroom teachers for most of their subjects and enjoy specialist teachers in Science and Physical Education. Their learning facilities are state-of-the-art and include access to kitchens, Science and Art workshops and the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden.
Year 7 students are part of our Middle Years program (Years 7 to 9) and have a learning experience that is a blend of a traditional Year 7 classroom, with greater access to specialist teachers and facilities of a ‘high school’. Our Year 7 students study Science, The Arts, Technology Studies, Physical Education and Languages with subject-specific teachers, learning in purpose-built facilities, providing them with quite a different experience from their contemporaries in primary school settings. As students progress through the college, specialised pathways become available to them that are tailored to their future aspirations and career goals. We offer a range of specialist subjects that provide pre-requisites for University degrees, as well as VET courses that allow students access to TAFE and apprenticeships. Details about subject choices are available in our subject handbooks, via the files below.
Students wanting to enrol from out-of-zone can become a part of our college through our Specialist Performing Arts program or through our Specialist Sports program. Students are invited to audition for places in Year 8, 9 or 10 Performing Arts in Dance, Drama and Music. Sports-focussed students can try out for our (AFL) Football program or our Netball program, for entry into Years 8, 9 or 10.
