FIDGET SPINNERS……………
The issue of fidget spinners being used in the classroom has been widely argued between friends, teachers and parents. I have heard some students say they should be banned, but most believe they are great. There are many reasons why fidget spinners should not be used in the classroom. Firstly, the toys can be really distracting for the other students because they can be really loud from the noises they make from the clicking and clacking. Just this noise can be really frustrating if you’re trying to concentrate. Some people think they can help students to do their work if they are playing with something in their hands. This could be because they might be having a stressful day. What actually ends up happening, is the students don’t get all their work done because they just sit and watch their fidget spinner turning when their playing with it. Secondly, the person with the fidget spinner can get distracted and just look at it go around and around because it can be really addictive for kids. The fascinating motion could maybe be more addictive than mobile phones. Some people think that by just watching the fidget spinner, it will relieve their stress. The reason their wrong is because they will watch it and stop focusing on their work and possibly stop interacting with their friends too. Lastly, other students may want to get one because it could interest them. Then, when everyone wants one, everyone gets one and it becomes even more distracting. People don’t want to miss out on new toys and gadgets, especially when they are so easy to buy. This makes it very easy for it to become really popular and therefore distracting. Some people think that it is good that other people get the toys because they are entertaining. The reason this is not a good idea is because all the kids will get one and not listen to their teacher anymore. Fidget spinners should definitely not be allowed in the classroom because they can; distract the person using them, be distracting to other students, and other students will want them and cause more distraction. Anyone thinking that fidget toys are okay in the classroom need to seriously reconsider their choices. How would you like to be in a classroom trying to concentrate with a buzzing noise next to your ear like an annoying fly that won't go away?
