Congratulations to Madison Thiel, who has been selected as the 2016-17 DECD Anti-Poverty Senior Youth Ambassador.
The Youth Ambassador award was established to recognise students who are actively helping to break the poverty cycle in their communities. Madison was recognised for her outstanding service to the community and her empathy for those in need. Madison has been involved in a number of activities that help those most vulnerable both here and overseas. These included helping to organise a fundraising event in response to the Cyclone Pam disaster that devastated Vanuatu, assisting in the sourcing of Christmas presents and clothes for children living in a domestic violence half way home, assisting vulnerable members of the community through her involvement in the Big Week Out program, and many other activities through her church. Well done and congratulations Madison. |
