One of our 2016 graduates, Madison Thiel, was awarded the University of Adelaide Principals' Scholarship. This scholarship is for new University of Adelaide students of high academic merit, who have also made a significant contribution to their high school and/or to the wider community. Maddy has just commenced studying a double degree in Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Science. She has also done a lot of work in the community and earned an ATAR of 97.25 without bonus points last year. During Madison’s time at Charles Campbell College, she also won the DECD Anti-Poverty Ambassador. Madison was recognised for her outstanding service to the community and her empathy for those in need. Madison has been involved in a number of activities that help those most vulnerable both here and overseas. These included helping to organise a fundraising event in response to the Cyclone Pam disaster that devastated Vanuatu, assisting in the sourcing of Christmas presents and clothes for children living in a domestic violence half way home, assisting vulnerable members of the community through her involvement in the Big Week Out program, and many other activities through her church.' We are very proud of Maddy’s efforts and wish her every success in the future.
