Aboriginal Education
At Charles Campbell College, we are proud to support our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families. We create meaningful opportunities for our mob to celebrate culture and strengthen identity throughout the year, particularly during significant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dates. Our Primary and Secondary teachers are committed to embedding Aboriginal perspectives across all learning areas, ensuring culture is seen, valued, and respected every day.
We work in strong partnership with our community to ensure every young person feels safe, respected, and connected to their culture at school.
Our Aboriginal Education Teachers (AETs) and Aboriginal Secondary Transition Officer (ASETO) work closely with students each day, supporting their learning, strengthening cultural identity, and maintaining strong connections with families and community.
We take a whole-child approach to education. Our wellbeing team supports students with their learning, friendships, attendance, and future pathways. We are here to listen, guide, and walk alongside our students throughout their schooling journey.

We also create culturally safe spaces for families to have a voice. Our Yarning Circle brings parents and carers together to share ideas, build relationships, and actively contribute to decision-making.
Students can participate in our Nunga Homework Club each week, where they receive additional learning support in a relaxed and supportive environment.
We support students through key transition points in culturally appropriate ways, including starting school from preschool, moving from Year 6 into high school, and planning for life beyond school. We assist students in exploring pathways into traineeships, apprenticeships, university, TAFE, or employment.
We encourage our students to have a voice, be leaders, and take pride in who they are. There are many opportunities for students to share their culture, engage in school life, and grow in confidence.
