Curriculum Overview: 

Our Performing Arts Academy- Selective Entry program offers students the exciting opportunity to develop skills in the following subjects all inextricably linked to the Australian Curriculum:

Middle School Pathway- Australian Curriculum
Year 7 – Students participate and are rotated through all Arts subjects:
  • Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Art, Media

Year 8-10 students choose two of the Performing Arts specialist contexts
  • Dance
  • Drama
  • Music (Instrumental lessons on offer- modern & classical guitar, brass, vocal, piano, strings, woodwind, drums, and percussion)

Senior School Pathway- SACE (South Australian Curriculum of Education)
Stage 1 and 2- Students choose to follow an Arts Pathway subject towards their SACE pattern in any one or more of the following Arts subjects that qualify towards an ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank).

  • Creative Arts- Media
  • Design & Technology- Digital Photography
  • Certificate III – Gaming
  • Certificate III – Dance

Tertiary Pathway

Charles Campbell College graduate students have gained entry into:

  • Flinders Drama Centre
  • The Australian Ballet School (Victoria)
  • The Elder School of Music (Conservatorium, South Australia)
  • University of South Australia
  • Adelaide University
  • NIDA (NSW)

  • New Zealand School of Dance
These tertiary institutions offer qualifications in:
  • Advanced Diploma of the Arts (Acting)
  • Bachelor of Dance Performance
  • Bachelor of Creative Arts (In a selected Arts Domain)
  • Bachelor of Arts (In a selected Arts Domains)
  • Bachelor of Music (Performance/Music Education / Music Studies)

Future Pathway

Our graduate students are currently working in a broad variety of Arts related careers that include:  film, TV, the Australian Ballet, independent industry and theatre companies and are working as performers, musicians, singers, technicians, writers and directors.

Co- Curricular Activities

​We believe that for students who wish to achieve and sustain a career in the Arts, it is essential that they are multi-skilled. We pride ourselves in fostering and providing a flexible range of Arts experiences for all Selective Arts Students through providing them with opportunities in a wide range of contexts.
  • CCC Production- Biannual
  • Adelaide Fringe Festival
  • Dance workshops and theatre sports
  • Industry Connections in music, drama and dance
  • Professional productions and exhibitions: State Opera and Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Festival Theatre and the Arts Gallery of SA
  • Local and community performances
  • Choir, Concert Bands, Instrumental, solo and vocal ensembles
  • CCC and International Assemblies
  • Local/Interstate/International Tours
