SOME HISTORY
Charles Campbell College is a Reception to Year 12 school, located at the base of the Adelaide Hills to the East of the Adelaide CBD.
First opened in 1970, as Campbelltown Technical High School, the school transitioned in 1973 to became Thorndon High School.
In 1990, initiatives from the Department for Education were received suggesting the amalgamation of nearby Campbelltown High School and Thorndon High School. After the initial shock, both schools accepted the challenge and began to work together.
The schools combined in 1992 to form Charles Campbell Secondary School and enjoyed continual growth, peaking at approximately 1350 students in the late 1990s.
Discussions about a possible amalgamation with Campbelltown Primary School started in 2007, with an approval of $10.155 million to refurbish the new R-12 school in 2009.
The now-amalgamated Charles Campbell College started operation in 2012.
