Middle School
Years 7 - 9
Students in Year 7 have a Mentor Group teacher who also teaches them for a number of subjects, to help them establish a sense of belonging. Year 7 students, much like Year 8 students will have access to specialist teachers and facilities, such as Tech Studies, Physical Education, Science, Dance and Music. Students in Year 8 have a Mentor Group teacher who also teaches them for one of their areas of learning. Where possible we aim to have the same Mentor Group teacher in Year 9 so students can continue building strong relationships with school staff and our community.
The Australian Curriculum has been introduced in all South Australian schools since 2013. At Charles Campbell College we offer courses in English, Humanities, Mathematics and Science (STEM) as well as The Arts, English, Health & Physical Education, Civics and Citizenship, Economics and Business, Geography, History, Languages (Italian), Science, Technologies, and Work Studies.
The Australian Curriculum describes three cross curriculum capabilities and seven general capabilities that have been embedded throughout the entire Middle Years curriculum. At Charles Campbell College we have a learning focus on Literacy, Numeracy and Critical and Creative Thinking explicitly taught across our learning areas.
