Student Leadership
Student Leadership at Charles Campbell College comprises both appointed (Prefects) and elected (Representatives) members.
Student Leadership Council (SLC) members are appointed. The Executive is led by Year 12 Head Prefects in collaboration with Year 11 Deputy Head Prefects. These prefects lead and support other student leaders in proposing and creating change and improvement in wide-ranging aspects of the school. They work with other students, the Principal, Executive Leadership team and other staff to create opportunities for authentic student voice. By doing so, they are able to influence decision-making while advocating for, and on behalf of, the wider student body across the College.
The Student Leadership Council (SLC) comprises five areas of Prefect representation:
This structure ensures that the Student Leadership Council are able to provide authentic student voice and strive for positive changes in all aspects of College life. Each of the areas is led by senior students who promote change and represent student voice within their respective domain. Prefects from Middle School and Junior School also hold membership within each area.
The Student Representative Council (SRC) comprises peer-elected representatives from:
Each Year 7-12 Mentor Group has a Mentor Group Representative and a proxy. These students meet with the SRC Prefect to represent student voice and champion initiatives for student connectedness within Mentor Groups and across year-levels and sub-schools.
Students also lead a range of extra-curricular clubs which meet at lunchtimes throughout the year. Club life supports cross-year interconnectedness between students and taps into the passions and strengths of students of all ages.
Student leaders are supported to develop genuine leadership skills and authentic opportunities for student voice. Members of the Principal’s Executive Team and other leaders meet with SLC and SRC groups regularly to collaborate on projects, discuss proposals and explore avenues to develop student connectedness and voice across the College.
